Etna Police Activities League

Mission and Purpose Statement

The specific and primary mission of the Etna PAL is to promote a constructive relationship between law enforcement officers, young people, and citizens of the community to develop the young people into responsible and mature adults/citizens. PAL programs are designed to develop activities which act as a deterrent to delinquent behavior among young people and keep them occupied with constructive organized activities. To achieve these objectives Etna Police Department/Etna PAL will initiate and sponsor amateur athletic and non-athletic programs and provide an opportunity for young people and law enforcement personnel to develop a mutually satisfying non-adversarial relationship through participation in PAL activities including athletics, educational presentations, tours, and training classes. This will be a drug, gang, and bully free program.

Siskiyou Central Credit Union

Mission Statement

Siskiyou Credit Union’s mission since its inception was and will remain “Service you expect, at a cost you can afford, by people who care.”

Purpose statement

We believe everyone has the opportunity to achieve their financial goals. We believe shared responsibility enhances the quality of life in our community. We do this by offering products and services to fit your life, your needs with compassion and integrity empowering you to live the quality of life you want.

History

Siskiyou Credit Union was founded in 1962 when two visionaries, Betty Pitman and Ken Bley, wanted to offer county employees a safe and affordable place to keep their hard earned pay. When the Credit Union finally got its charter to serve only county employees, Betty would be open for business on Tuesdays and Thursdays during her lunch break—from her desk at the Welfare Department.

A few short years later, in 1969, the Credit Union had grown to $135,075 in assets.

After many moves, changes, and charter expansions, Siskiyou Credit Union expanded our charter to the entire community in January 2001.  Ever since, we have been serving community residents with a full range of financial products that offer high interest, low fees, and stellar member-focused service.

Today, we are more than 10,000 members strong with over 137 million in assets, and look forward to a bright future ahead.

Denny Bar Company

Our story begins over 35 years ago here in Scott Valley California, when two young boys became best friends. Over the years their friendship took them on many adventures, during which they both developed an interest and obsession in great food and high quality spirits. After growing successful businesses independently, they were inspired to begin a new adventure together, embracing what they enjoyed and sharing with the world their own manufactured spirits and high quality artisanal food.

After years of dabbling in the industry as hobbyists, they decided it was now time to open their own establishment. When the landmark building, circa 1880, became available for sale in their hometown, it was the inspiration that fueled the rebirth of Denny Bar Company, the first of its kind in Siskiyou County, California.
